On Monday, after a long time, we welcomed again a visit from Austria in Mochovce. Teachers and students from the Vienna BOKU University who study risk management and environmental impacts of renewable energy sources, came to Energoland. The leader of the group, Dr. Nikolaus Muellner, was an observer during the 2019 IAEA Pre-OSART mission to assess the readiness of the Mochovce NPP Unit 3 for commissioning.
In addition to a tour of the Energoland and the simulators of the unit supervisors, we organized a lecture by our experts to our neighbours from Austria on the management of external and internal risks considered in the safety report of the Mochovce NPP, as well as on the measures implemented to manage severe accidents at the nuclear power plant. Thus, in addition to the experience of the visit to the nuclear power plant, they also took away interesting information that they can use in their further studies.
